In addition to providing real-world projects and hands-on-trainning, UrbaCore trainee members are hired as future programmers, and will receive a paycheck while learning. UrbaCore has fostered corporate partnerships that provide challenging and rewarding tasks; members will receive hands-on training with corporate clients and will build up a personal portfolio for career development following the completion of the four year program. Once the apprentice has completed the course and project work, he/she will work with UrbaCore's corporate partner program for permanent career placement.

While participating in UrbaCore, members will receive the luxuries associated with a corporate career: accredited college credit, a bi-weekly paycheck, a 401k plan, health benefits, enculturation into a highly-lucrative career field, and the security of immediate job placement once members complete their program requirements.

The focus of the program is on inner-city youths; however, everyone in the community is encouraged to apply. Potential candidates are not required to have previous programming or engineering experience, but should have a solid, fundamental knowledge of computers and technology.

UrbaCore is not for everyone. Only the brightest, most ambitious, and hardest-working applicants will be chosen. If you are not interested in working diligently, and committed to gaining an education in a disciplined environment, then do not apply.
